Chicago River turns Green

Crisscross: American news and discussion
Picture Of The Day (probably no longer up – but take my word for it is GREEN!)

Thousands of spectators line the banks of the Chicago River to watch as the annual ritual of dyeing the river green in honor of St Patrick's Day takes place Sunday. The tradition was started in 1962 when members of a local pipe fitters union dyed the river with permission of the mayor.

Not sure what the Green Party would have to say about this!
