For a start … A character in Moby Dick is the inspiration behind the name of America's popular coffee chain, Starbucks. True or False?

While it's true that one of the founder's favorite books was Moby Dick, he originally wanted to name the company Pequod, after the ship in the novel. But his partners wanted a name more connected to Seattle. They suggested Starbo, a mining camp on Mount Rainier. The name reminded the co-founder of another character in the novel, Starbuck, the first mate. And the rest, as you know, is java history.
